Revetment Reconstruction & Damage Repairs

Longport, NJ

Agate Construction Co. Inc. is working for the NJ Department of Environmental Protection Bureau of Coastal Engineering (NJDEP BCE) for this project. The scope of work being performed for the project consists of the reconstruction, improvements, and additions to the Longport Point Revetment from the 11th Ave Terminal Groin to the Atlantic Avenue Jetty in Longport, NJ. The 11th Avenue Terminal Groin and Atlantic Ave jetty are also being rehabilitated and improved via resetting, capping, and grout sealing of the existing stone displaced by Super Storm Sandy at plan-designated areas. The entirety of the Longport Point Revetment is being reconstructed through the rehandling and reinstallation of existing stone; placement of new imported stone ranging in size from 12’’ rip-rap up to 10 ton cap stone; and grout sealing of the new crest of the profile in continuous manner along the length of this structure. The finished project will afford Longport Point additional shore protection from storm surge and wave action at the same elevation that the newly constructed beach dune for the town is being built to. The final grout sealing of these structures will also add recreational enhancement to Longport Point by creating safe access for fishing along the length of the improved crests.
