Marginal Wharf Upgrade at Penn Terminals
Eddystone, PAThe intent of the project is to stabilize the existing Penn Terminal wharf along the shore of the Delaware River in Eddystone, PA. Agate will install a new façade structure along the entire perimeter of the wharf. The scope of work consists of the installation of 83 – 20” diameter pipe piles augered to sound rock and connected with 651 interlocking 50’ sheet piles. The cavity between the existing bulkhead and the new sheeting face structure will be backfilled entirely with concrete. The structural work will be followed by the installation of a new fender system, safety ladders, fire stand-off pipes, drainage and outfall pipes. The surface will then be completed with new curbs and surface treatment. All work will take place while maintaining ship access to the dock. Work will begin on September 1, 2019 and must be completed by December 31, 2019. Work will take place with a 24/7 schedule through completion.
